Holland may not have won Euro 2012 but, according to GfK, we did produce the winning campaign of the football championship. Our so-called ‘Lucky Birds’ – in the team’s national colour of orange – squeaked their way into the hearts and minds of the Dutch nation. They even appeared alongside Dutch celebrities and football stars in a catchy, specially commissioned song. It flew into the charts, reaching No 1, and the music video was viewed over a million times on YouTube! Of course our Lucky Birds generated a lot of tweets. In the first hour of the campaign, it was already trending on Twitter.
